The main criterias for buying a Digital Asset Management were:

  • there was no central application to work on ad‘s
  • ad’s were sent individually to every country and site
  • no possibility for CI check because of open InDesign datas
  • many other agencies were involved in the production process
  • complicated distribution of big data amounts (FTP, e-mail attachments)

Technical Basis: Web front end, Hybris PIM Application, celum Media Asset Database

These targets were in focus:

  • Central web-based, easy to use tool
  • Individual adaption of ad’s directly in the application
  • PDF pre-press files direct out of the application
  • Distribution via download from a central server
  • Retailer should use it as well (2nd phase)
  • Set up processes for deposit in a media data base

How is KTM Adbuilder used today?

The user (site or retailer) log in the system and gets in the first step a selection screen, from which he can choose the needed ad. The application shows just logically coherent results and guides the user actively throughout the system at any time.

 

In the second step, the user selects an image from the celum media database for the ad. In the same procedure individual texts can be filled in and edited. The InDesign server prepares the pre-press file. The user gets directly in the system the finished pdf with the ad prepared for the individual needs. This all happens while the system is checking currently the CI guidelines.

 

The system is up and running since April 6th.

In the 2nd phase there are some more increments planned, which can help the user friendly usage.

The user should have the possibility to change even more parts of the ad, and they should be navigated more easily through the system. With these actions, the acceptance of the system should be increased.

At KTM the Adbuilder is the first application using celum as a central media platform. In the near future the website and the image-database will follow. So the strategy of the central media asset management can be followed and common synergies can be used.
